Fillings are perhaps the most basic of tooth restoration methods. They fill a hole in your tooth that has been caused by decay or breakage, helping you to keep your natural tooth for many more years. A new filling may, of course, also be required to replace an existing, worn or failing one.

At Stricklands Dental Fitness Centre, we offer tooth-coloured (white) fillings. These are strong and long-lasting, look far better than the more traditional amalgam (silver grey) fillings and are mercury free.

The procedure is very simple. We numb your tooth and the surrounding area so you don't feel any pain, and remove the decay from your tooth. We then fill the hole with tooth-coloured material, setting each layer with a special light, and finally shape the filling so it looks and feels completely natural. Alternatively, a porcelain 'inlay' may be fabricated by a dental lab., after an impression of the cavity has been taken.
